Old-Fashioned Southern Corn Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups HOMESTEAD CORNMEAL
  • 1/2 t baking soda
  • 1 t baking powder
  • 1 t salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 T melted butter
  • 2 cups buttermilk

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 425°.
  • Pour a little bit of oil into a 12″ cast-iron skillet. Heat the skillet in the oven.
  • Mix the dry ingredients together.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the rest of the ingredients, add to the dry ingredients and mix.
  • Pour into hot skillet.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes.
