The grind is perfect for corn bread, hot mush breakfast cereal, and also for mixing with wheat bread flour for good old home made bread loafs. For me I prefer a finer ground meal for breading chicken and fish BUT this still works well. The blue corn meal has a slightly nuttier flavor than regular white or yellow meal.

United StatesBest Blue Cornmeal I’ve Found!!!!
This is the best blue cornmeal I’ve found. I’ve tried some from other mills and this is my favorite. It has a nice texture, not too fine and not too coarse. It’s always fresh. My cornbread always tastes great with a nice crumb. We love it! In fact we are giving some as gifts this year! Have to share the goodness!!!

We’ve used our cornmeal twice since it arrived and it’s living up to our expectations and memories, of when we first visited the Gristmill about 5 years ago and discovered it. We live in Northern California so it’s fun, every time I dip into the bag of cornmeal, we remember our visit and the wonderful products and people of the Homestead Farm near Waco.
