A tour of the Homestead Gristmill Tea House is a fascinating live lesson of the history and processes by which grains have been prepared for thousands of years. A restored 18th Century Gristmill building is today, still powered by water, which propels the large wheel that turns the large millstones.
Visitors can watch the milling process from start to finish, enjoying fresh baked scones and cup of iced or cold tea, then tour the Gristmill store, which features fresh samples of various baked items, unique gift items for the kitchen and home, and dozens of delicious natural mixes that can be taken home and enjoyed.
