  • Grinding with stone gives you the best flavor. This product will last up to 8 months in a cool, dry location or near 2 years if kept frozen.
  • It is important to note that these are coarsely-ground grits as desired by many of our customers. As a result of this special grind, our grits can take an additional amount to come to its creamy consistency. If interested in faster cooking grits, please take a look at our Yellow Fine Grits.

    Seriously, the best grits ever.

As a good southern boy, I love my grits and a lot of companies tout that they have great grits. We've tried over 20 different grits from all over and Homestead Gristmill Grits are by far the best. They make the creamiest and thickest grits. Every year, we make jalapeño, cheese grits for Christmas and Mardi Gras, and people notice when we didn't use the Homestead Gristmill Grits. We ran out at Christmas and had to use a substitution. They were, "OK," as my cousin said, "just not as rich and creamy as they normally are." We will always have them in our pantry from here on out.
